RCMP in New Brunswick are investigating a suspicious fatal fire near Berry Mills, just outside Moncton.

Emergency crews responded to the fire at a home on Isaiah Road around 3 a.m. Monday.

Police say a woman who was in the home at the time of the blaze managed to escape unharmed.

However, police discovered the body of a 64-year-old man in a nearby outbuilding. They say the building had been locked from the inside.

Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death but police believe he may have been involved in setting the fire at the home.

They are still investigating the incident.
