The RCMP in New Brunswick are investigating a suspicious house fire in Shediac.
The Shediac Fire Department responded to the blaze on Bellevue Street around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say one of the residents awoke to the sound of crackling wood coming from the back of the home and awoke the other two residents.
They managed to escape the fire unharmed but the home received extensive damage in the blaze.
Police believe the fire, which is considered to be suspicious, started in the back porch.
