AMHERST, N.S. - Nova Scotia RCMP are asking for public assistance in the search for a woman who has been missing for a year.

Katherine Cora McNeil was last seen leaving the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan on Oct. 4, 2010.

The Mounties say they have followed up on close to a dozen potential sightings of McNeil over the past year in various locations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but without success.

The 58-year-old McNeil is described as heavy set and is five feet tall with grey or red hair.

Investigators believe McNeil could be using her birth name of Elizabeth Anne McNeil or the nickname "Moondancer."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Amherst RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
