Saint John police seek driver who fled the scene after hitting pedestrian

Police in Saint John, N.B., are trying to track down the driver of a vehicle that allegedly left the scene after striking a pedestrian in the city on New Year’s Eve.

Members of the Saint John Police Force responded to the collision in the 100 block of Somerset Street shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Police say the pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses to the collision told officers the vehicle was a dark-coloured sedan.

Investigators are asking anyone else who saw the incident or has video footage from the area at the time to contact the Saint John Police Force at 1-506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
