A search is underway for a Québec man whose vehicle was found in New Brunswick on the weekend.

Randolph Mitchell, a 51 year-old man from the Listuguj First Nation in Québec, was last seen in Listuguj around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say his disappearance is unusual and his family is worried for his well-being.

RCMP were called to Beauséjour Road in McLeods, near Campbellton, around 10 a.m. Saturday after Mitchell’s vehicle was found abandoned on the road.

The RCMP, Listuguj Police, volunteers with Restigouche Ground Search and Rescue, as well as a K9 unit have been conducting ground searches in the area since Saturday.

Police say boats are scouring the Restigouche River as well as riverbanks in New Brunswick and Québec.

Mitchell is roughly five-feet-eight inches tall and weighs roughly 195 pounds. He has short, salt and pepper hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact police.
