SIRT investigating domestic assault allegations involving RCMP member

HALIFAX -- The Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating an allegation of domestic violence involving a member of the RCMP.
SIRT says the complainant contacted the RCMP on Saturday to report that they were a victim of domestic violence and said that an RCMP member had assaulted them earlier that evening.
The RCMP referred the matter to SIRT, which has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
No other details have been released at this time.
SIRT is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia.
