Six people are in hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in west Saint John Friday morning.
Saint John Police say the accident happened around 7:30 am near the Visitor Information Centre.
Const. Tom Clayton says five vehicles were involved and two people were seriously injured.
“Someone lost control, crossed the median and went over to the eastbound lane and had a head-on collision with one of the vehicles, then a chain reaction after that,” says Clayton.
Traffic was backed up on the highway for several hours as the scene was cleaned up.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
