A Halifax boy will stand trial in September on a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Halifax senior.
The 17-year-old appeared in Halifax youth court Tuesday to have dates set for a trial.
Judge Anne Derrick scheduled the hearing for Sept. 11 to 28.
Although the boy will be tried in youth court, the Crown has given notice that it will apply to have him sentenced as an adult if he's convicted.
Police say 70-year-old Glenn Francis Oakley was gunned down on Nov. 19 as he walked across a bridge in the suburb of Spryfield.
Police arrested three young men from Halifax in relation to the shooting death.
