Halifax Regional Police say they have identified a third woman, shown in a photo they released to the media in September.
Police released images of four different women on September 29. Investigators were concerned the photos were taken without their knowledge, so they appealed to the public to come forward with information.
Two of the women were identified within a day of the pictures being released.
Police say a third woman contacted investigators Tuesday and identified herself as one of the remaining women. They are still hoping to identify the fourth woman.
Const. Brian Palmeter says the photos were taken in the south end of Halifax at least one year ago. The women, who were unaware their photos were being taken, have since moved out of Halifax.
Police say the highly unusual decision to release photographs of women has resulted in tips. Investigators say they followed up many leads after the photos were made public.
Police confirm the photos were seized after they executed a search warrant at a residence.
So far no charges have been laid in the case, but police say charges could come as early as next week.
Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the fourth and final woman in the photos to contact them.
