HALIFAX -- New Brunswick public health reported three new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

Two cases are people in their 70s from the Fredericton region and their infections are related to international travel.

The other case is a person in their 60s from the Campbellton region and the cause is under investigation. All are self-isolating

"You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family -- except during a pandemic," said Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province's chief medical officer of health. "We want all New Brunswickers to keep their close contact numbers to a minimum. Help New Brunswick and the Atlantic bubble fight off the second wave. Let's work together but apart."

There have now been 331 confirmed cases in New Brunswick and of those 265 have recovered. There have been six deaths, so the number of active cases is 60. According to the online dashboard, eight people have recovered since Sunday.

Four people are in hospital with none in an intensive care unit. As of Monday, 98,251 tests had been conducted.

Zone 5 remains in the Orange level of recovery with the province recommending that residents keep contacts to a minimum.

Over the weekend, more than 2,400 asymptomatic people in Zone 5 were tested and the results will be ready soon.
