Three people are dead following three separate accidents on Nova Scotia roads in the last 24 hours.

Woman dies in two-vehicle crash

A woman has died following a collision between a tractor-trailer and a car in Monastery, N.S.

The RCMP responded to the crash near Exit 37 on Highway 104 around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

They say the female driver, and sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Police say Highway 104 between Exit 38 at Havre Boucher and Exit 37 at Monastery will remain closed until 6 p.m. Friday while police investigate the scene. Traffic is being re-routed onto Highway 4.

A traffic analyst attended the scene and police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Man dies in collision with deer

A man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a deer in Yarmouth, N.S. last night.

The RCMP responded to the crash on Forest Street around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Paramedics attended the scene and the lone male driver was taken to Yarmouth County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the deer was killed upon impact with the motorcycle.

Forest Street was closed for several hours Thursday night while investigators scoured the crash scene.

The victim's name is not being released at the request of his family.

Motorcyclist dies after crashing into power pole

Police in Cape Breton say a 49-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle struck a power pole in New Victoria.

Police and paramedics responded to the crash at Highway 28 and Webb's Lane shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Willis Anthony Detienne of New Waterford was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officers in the traffic safety and identification units are assisting in the investigation.
