Trial dates have been set for a Halifax lawyer accused of drugging and raping a woman last year.

Lyle Howe will be tried by jury for 15 days, starting Nov. 12, 2013.

The 27-year-old was committed to stand trial following a preliminary inquiry earlier this year.

Howe faces charges of sexual assault and administering a noxious substance in connection with an incident involving a 20-year-old woman in March 2011.

His co-accused, Jeffrey Kendall Brown of Halifax, will be tried separately on the same charges starting Sept. 30, 2013.

Howe is best known for representing independent MLA Trevor Zinck, who is awaiting his own trial on charges of theft, fraud and breach of trust in Nova Scotia’s MLA spending scandal.
