Two people were arrested Wednesday after officers with the Canadian Border Services Agency executed separate search warrants in Halifax.

One man was taken away in handcuffs from a home in the city’s west end Wednesday morning.

The agency says the search was carried out under the Customs Act in relation to the suspected smuggling of prohibited weapons.

Officers executed a second search warrant, but border officials wouldn’t say where.

They also wouldn’t comment on the age or gender of the people arrested.
