The RCMP say two teenage boys face weapons-related charges following the investigation of a weapons complaint near a school in Middle Sackville, N.S.

After receiving a report that two youths were seen getting off a bus with weapons, police responded to Millwood High School Tuesday afternoon, prompting a lockdown at the school.

Police later found a duffle bag in the woods near Millwood High. The duffle bag contained two long guns and two BB-type guns along with some ammunition.

The Halifax Regional School Board said that nearby Millwood Elementary was also on hold and secure in response to the incident.

The school board says the lockdown at Millwood High School and the hold and secure at Millwood Elementary were both lifted around 1 p.m.

All students were safe and both schools resumed their daily schedules.

The two suspects under the age of 18 were later arrested - one at the scene and one in an area nearby.

Police say they don’t know why the pair were in possession of the weapons.

The pair will be appearing in court Wednesday.
