Steven Shaun Gowen has been sentenced to three years in prison for his involvement in the shooting death of 18-year-old Dillon Blair Jewett.
Gowen, 21, pleaded guilty to accessory to murder after the fact in Kentville Supreme Court Thursday morning.
He has been in prison since he was arrested in October 2010. The time he has already served will count towards his sentence, which means he will remain in prison for another two years and four months.
He had originally been charged with first-degree murder along with his brother, 23-year-old Kyle Brian Gowen, and Jewett's former girlfriend, Amanda Allison Greene, all of Eastern Passage.
Kyle Gowen pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Tuesday. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years.
Jewett's body was found in a quarry in East Uniacke, north of Halifax, in October 2010. A group of people had been riding bikes and all-terrain vehicles in the area when they discovered Jewett's body and called 911.
