Woman charged after two men assaulted in Elsipogtog on New Year’s Eve: N.B. RCMP

A woman has been charged with assault after two people were attacked in Elsipogtog, N.B., on New Year’s Eve.

The RCMP received a report of an assault at a home on Oak Street around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2024.

Police allege a 26-year-old woman assaulted a 59-year-old man and a 24-year-old man following an altercation.

The older man was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The younger man was not injured.

Police say the woman was arrested at the scene without incident and later released on conditions.

Josie Hannah Augustine of Elsipogtog is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

Augustine appeared in Moncton provincial court on Friday. She is due back in court to enter a plea on Jan. 15.
