A woman is dead and a man is in hospital following a two-vehicle collision on New Brunswick’s Highway 11.
Police responded to the crash near the Jacquet River Boulevard exit at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say the collision occurred as the victim tried to pass another vehicle in a designated passing lane.
However, police say she crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming vehicle.
The driver, a 43-year-old woman from Nash Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 25-year-old man from Black River Bridge, was taken to the Campbellton Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they were the only occupants in their vehicles.
The victim’s family has requested that her name not be released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
