Cape Breton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a single-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a man in South Bar, N.S.

Police responded to the crash just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

They say a black Chevrolet Suburban left the road near Highway 28, resulting in the death of the 40-year-old driver.

A 29-year-old passenger was taken to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital.

Police believe the vehicle and its occupants had been in the Browns Lake area for some time before the collision. Investigators say they would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the Browns Lake area late Saturday or early Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cape Breton Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
