Minor league hockey players in Cole Harbour, N.S. will benefit from a good deed done by hockey superstars Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon.
The Cole Harbour natives each played a big role in Canada's win at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. Today, Hockey Canada’s Tom Renney announced the money Crosby and MacKinnon won at the tournament will be given to the Cole Harbour Minor Hockey Association.
“With that millon-dollar prize, I had good conversations with Sid about what we wanted to do with that and one of the things Sid wanted to do was donate money back to his minor hockey association,” says Renney.
Renney made the announcement at Crosby's hockey camp in Cole Harbour, which wraps up on Friday.
