Police in the Halifax area are asking motorists and pedestrians to pay extra attention to their surroundings following four separate collisions in marked crosswalks within a 24-hour period.

In the latest incident, officers responded to Windmill Road, close to Jamieson Street, in Dartmouth just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

They say a 30-year-old man was hit in the crosswalk by a vehicle travelling south on Windmill Road.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 21-year-old man was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and also for being a licensed learner operating a motor vehicle without an experienced driver present.

Last night’s collision is in addition to two separate collisions in crosswalks Wednesday morning and one Tuesday night.
