Gena Holley is an assignment editor at CTV Atlantic in Halifax.

Raised in Spryfield, N.S., Gena is proud of her Maritime roots and loves to share stories about her community.

Gena earned a diploma in Radio and Television Arts from the Nova Scotia Community College, with a major in broadcast journalism.

In 2012, Gena began her career in journalism at CTV Atlantic, where she started as an autocue operator. She has since filled the positions of reporter, production assistant, director, and producer. In 2018, Gena transitioned to the role of assignment editor.

Throughout her time at CTV Atlantic, Gena has covered a variety of topics, including breaking news, provincial elections, and weather events. Gena is a generalist, but she especially enjoys writing hard news stories.

When she is not at work, Gena enjoys exploring the Maritimes and all things Star Wars.
