A Halifax woman is facing charges in connection with Wednesday’s attempted murder on Brunswick Street.

On Wednesday officers were called to the area of Brunswick and Artz Streets around 3:50 p.m.

When they arrived they found a 46-year-old male victim. The suspect had already fled the scene.

After speaking with witnesses, police say they determined the victim had been struck with a blunt object during an altercation.

He remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrested 49-year-old Christelle Ellison Wednesday night.

She has been charged with three counts of accessory after the fact for allegedly assisting the suspect following the incident and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say they have identified a main suspect and will release his name and photo once a search warrant has been obtained.

Police say the suspect they’re looking for is a 24-year-old Halifax man.

He is facing an attempted murder charge and several breaches of a recognizance in relation to the incident.
