HALIFAX - A Halifax man wanted for attempted murder who police have been trying to find for more than two months has been arrested in Toronto.

Police say a 46-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries on Oct. 21 after being struck with a blunt object during an altercation.

He was released from hospital within a week.

Police issued an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Arnelle Wellington Ellison on Oct. 23.

They say Toronto police arrested the suspect on Tuesday and he was returned to Halifax on Thursday.

Ellison is facing charges including attempted murder, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He's expected to appear in court on Monday to face the allegations.
