Halifax Regional Police have identified the man found dead in a Clayton Park apartment complex as 58-year-old Frank John Lampe.
Police say Lampe was found dead Thursday around 10:13 p.m. in the hallway of an apartment building on Harlington Crescent.
A short time later, police say they found a 20-year-old man with serious injuries near a Halifax Transit bus stop on Willett Street.
The man was taken into custody and then to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. He was released from custody without charges Friday at 10:50 p.m.
Police say the man remains in hospital, but did not provide an update on his condition.
Police say they are looking to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident.
