N.B. RCMP arrest Boiestown man after vehicle pursuit
A 33-year-old man is facing assault and theft charges after police arrested him following a vehicle pursuit in Boiestown, N.B., last week.
Police responded to a reported theft at a business on Route 8 around 8:34 a.m. on Dec. 7, according to an RCMP news release. Officers spotted two people in a vehicle who fled the scene.
Police later found the vehicle on Porter Cove Road and used a tire deflation device to stop it on Highway 8 in Ludlow.
Officers chased the 33-year-old driver on foot and arrested him. They also arrested a 38-year-old woman and later released her.
There were no reported injuries.
Christian Scott Norrad was charged with:
- assault of a peace officer with a weapon
- flight from a peace officer
- theft
- dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- resisting arrest
- mischief
Norrad was released on conditions and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30.
