P.E.I. residents can pick up school-age allowance amid Canada Post strike

Prince Edward Island is offering its semi-annual school-age allowance to be picked up starting this week amid the ongoing Canada Post strike.
The province’s allowance payment program allow eligible families with school-age children who are clients of social assistance or assured income to receive cheques in August and December.
People who usually receive those cheques via mail can pick them up from their local social programs office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday.
Clients must provide one piece of current identification.
Offices are located at:

• 41 Wood Islands Road in Montague
• 45 East Drive in O’Leary
