Sunnyside Restaurant in Bedford, N.S., up for lease

Share

After a year-and-a-half-long closure due to a flood, the Sunnyside Restaurant in Bedford, N.S., is up for lease.

The diner was one of many businesses that closed in the summer of 2023 after heavy rainfall resulted in widespread flooding in the area. While some businesses in the area reopened following the floods, Sunnyside Restaurant was not one of them.

The restaurant traces its roots back decades when Bedford served as a stopping place for travellers heading to and from Halifax. According to a sign on the building, it has been in operation since 1930.

The popular breakfast spot and pub was operated by the Grafton Connor Group, which also operates True North Diner, Redwood Grill, The Auction House and Kempster’s Cookhouse, among others.

It’s currently unknown what the plans are for the piece of land.
