A New Brunswick woman charged in connection with the discovery of the body of a newborn baby is now facing an additional charge in the case.

Christine Margaret Wood was originally charged with concealing the body of a child in May.

RCMP say a charge of indignity to a dead human body or human remains was laid against Wood in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday.

The newborn’s body was discovered in a snow bank on Taylor Road near Monteagle, N.B. on April 4, 2009.

The baby is legally known as Baby Boy Doe but became known as Baby Taylor in the weeks following the discovery of his body.

Over the course of their investigation, police received information that led them to Wood. She was arrested in Hillsborough without incident on May 17.

Police allege the 30-year-old Riverview woman disposed of the dead body with the intent to conceal the fact that she had given birth to him.

Wood is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 3 for election and plea.
