Nova Scotia has been named one of the 50 best places to travel in 2025 by Travel + Leisure magazine.

While there was no ranking to the list, the Maritime province shows up alongside popular destinations such as Rome, Hong Kong, Fiji, Barbados, and even Turks and Caicos.

The province can be found in the “For Moments on the Water” section, where Nova Scotia’s natural beauty, as well as coastal activities like Halifax’s harbour cruises, is highlighted.

The magazine also mentions the appeal of the number of flights coming into the Halifax Stanfield Airport, accommodations such as the Muir hotel in downtown Halifax, and the location of the capital city as a starting point for trips to the Bay of Fundy and Cape Breton.

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged in the prestigious list of the ‘50 Best Places to Travel in 2025,’” said Dave Ritcey, the province’s minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.

“Nova Scotia’s unique charm and scenic coastlines draw visitors from around the world. It’s great to see our province and tourism industry receiving recognition as a world-class vacation destination.”

Cape Breton Island was previously voted as the second best island in Canada by the magazine’s readers for the its hiking trails through winding canyons, waterfalls, and high cliffs.

Nova Scotia was one of two Canadian regions to appear on the list, with Yukon appearing under the category “For Nature Lovers.”
