JOGGINS, N.S. -- Police are asking for the public's help as they investigate five suspicious fires that injured a firefighter in Joggins, N.S.

They say about a dozen fire departments were called to fires at four different buildings in the small community on May 5.

As emergency personnel responded to those fires, a fifth blaze was reported at the Masonic lodge building on Highway 242 in Joggins.

A Baptist church near the lodge sustained smoke and water damage after it caught fire.

In all, five structures were destroyed and a firefighter from the River Hebert Fire Department suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
