A man accused of fatally shooting a father and son in Prince Edward Island has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

The bodies of Herbert Brent McGuigan, 68, and his son Brendon Patrick McGuigan, 39, were found inside their home near Montague on Aug. 20.

Alfred Guy Vuozzo, 46, of the Montague area has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in their deaths. He has not yet entered pleas.

Vuozzo has elected to be tried by Supreme Court judge alone. Vuozzo’s lawyer made the request on his behalf in Georgetown court on Thursday.

The case is due back in the province’s Supreme Court on Nov.14.
