Police say a suspect who allegedly stole a unique motorized bicycle last week in Halifax could be in danger.

Const. Brian Palmeter says the bike is unique because it has been outfitted with a small engine and it is likely the only one of its kind in Halifax, and possibly in Nova Scotia.

He says the alleged robber may be at risk because the engine requires a specific fuel and without it, it could explode and cause injury.

Palmeter says someone cut the lock and stole the bike from the front deck of a residence on Cabot Street last Wednesday night.

The bike is a black Norco Bush Pilot and it is equipped with a Zenoah GoPed motor.

Police are asking anyone with information on the bike's whereabouts to contact them.
