Saint John, N.B., has declared an overnight parking ban for the South/Central Peninsula beginning 11 p.m. Thursday evening through 7 a.m. Friday morning. No on-street parking will be allowed anywhere in the area.

Three Saint John parking lots will be cleared for use by on-street parking residents located at Peters Street, Sydney Street (Service New Brunswick) and Vulcan Street. A map of the parking lots available during the ban is available at the City of Saint John website.

Vehicles must be removed from designated parking lots by 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and by noon on weekends or holidays. Vehicles that remain after 7 a.m. may be towed at the owner’s risk and expense.

The Peel Plaza Parking garage offers $5 overnight parking rate on nights when a parking ban is declared. The rate is valid 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. After 8 a.m. regular parking rates will apply.

Vehicles parked on the street when a parking ban is in effect could be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

Overnight parking bans are declared as per the city’s traffic by-law to allow for snow removal.
