Three charged with drug trafficking after police raid home in Anglo Tignish, P.E.I.
Three people are facing drug trafficking charges after a police raid at a home in Prince Edward Island.
Multiple units of the RCMP searched a home in Anglo Tignish, P.E.I., on Wednesday.
During the search, police say officers seized:
- approximately 1.5 kg of suspected methamphetamines
- approximately 40 grams of suspected cocaine
- cash
- a rifle, bear spray, mace, and other weapons
A vehicle was also seized as property related to the offence, according to a news release from the RCMP.
Donna Gavin, 43, Brayden McGuigan, 22, and Gerry Lee McGuigan, 43, have been charged with:
- possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
- possession of a firearm without a valid licence
- unsafe storage of a firearm
Gavin and Gerry Lee McGuigan are also facing charges of breach of probation.
"Drug seizures at the kilo level do not happen every day in P.E.I. 1.5 Kilograms of methamphetamines represents 1500 to 15000 doses and 40 grams of cocaine is 40 up to 400 doses,” said P.E.I. RCMP Commanding Officer Chief Supt. Kevin Lewis in a news release.
All three people remain in custody pending their bail hearings on Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.
