Wanted N.B. man considered 'violent' arrested, charged with assaults
A man who was wanted in connection with assaults in New Brunswick has been arrested and charged with a number of offences.
The RCMP said last month it was looking for 36-year-old Yves Leopold Levesques of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, N.B.
Levesques was wanted for assault causing bodily harm in connection with alleged assaults reported in McLaughlin, near Plaster Rock, on Nov. 13.
The RCMP said Levesques was known to police and considered to be violent, so they were warning people to stay away from him.
Police said Tuesday that Levesques was arrested on Dec. 22 and appeared in Woodstock provincial court the next day.
He is facing the following charges:
- two counts of break and enter
- two counts of mischief under $5,000
- assault with a weapon
- threats to property
- theft under $5,000
- assault causing bodily harm
- uttering threats
Levesques was remanded into custody. He is due back in court on Jan. 16, 2025.
