A woman is dead after she was struck by a Via Rail train in Miramichi, N.B.
Police say it happened before 7 p.m. Wednesday near Morrison Lane.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her age and identity have not been released.
The Via Rail train stopped at the scene for three hours before returning to the train station in Miramichi.
In an email to CTV News, Via Rail says the train was “implicated in an incident with a trespasser.”
The train was en route from Halifax to Montreal.
