Workers at the Bowater Mill in Brooklyn, N.S., are voting on major job concessions that could have a say in the mill's future.

Workers are casting their ballots at the union hall to decide whether the mill should cut 80 positions and make changes to the union's collective agreement.

Carl Whynot, a part time employee, said "it's hard for the full timers, I mean they work a lot of years to get what they got and now they gotta give everything up."

Other issues have yet to be resolved at the mill, including power rates and other factors critical to the mill's operations. These issues will be discussed at a company board meeting in December.

Queens County Mayor John Leefe says the municipality is doing what it can to support the company and was asked to provide small tax cuts by the provincial government.

Voting ends tonight for workers.
