A forest fire in southwestern New Brunswick is now contained and under control.

The Blacks Harbour Fire Department say crews from various departments responded to the forest fire on Woodland Road in Pennfield, N.B. around 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

Four water bombers also helped battle the blaze.

There were concerns that the fire could have reached some nearby houses, but crews say that's no longer a concern.

No one was injured but investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.

At this point they consider it suspicious.
