Nova Scotia Olympian Ellie Black has won her third straight women’s all-around senior title Sunday at the Canadian gymnastics championships.
Despite being ranked third after the qualification round, Black bounced back with a strong performance.
The Halifax native edged Manitoba’s Isabela Onyshko by a score of 57.95 to 57.55.
Results from this championship will play a key role in the selection of teams for the Pan American Games this summer in Toronto.
Black’s win makes her a leading contender for a Pan Am Games berth.
Officials say the Canadian men’s and women’s Pan Am teams will be announced on June 4th.
