Police say a 72-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Dartmouth, N.S., Monday morning has died.

Officers responded to the collision at the intersection of Victoria Road and Chappell Street around 7:05 a.m.

Police say the male pedestrian was struck while he was in a marked crosswalk.

He was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man, was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
