The Halifax Metro Centre was officially re-branded on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Under the new naming rights partnership, Scotiabank will invest $650,000 per year for the next ten years.
That money will cover replacing seats, renovating washrooms and expanding the concession area which is all part of what Trade Centre Ltd. President and CEO, Scott Ferguson, says will be a new era.
“The entertainment, sports entertainment business has change dramatically,” says Ferguson. ``Not only are there more acts and more exciting acts on the road but there is significantly more participation in the community on the events that we’re hosting.`
Scotiabank Centre opened to the public for the first time Friday night since being renamed. The Halifax Mooseheads played their home opener losing 3-0 to the Moncton Wildcats.
