Fans of the Halifax Mooseheads will be disappointed to learn their favourite team has been floored by the flu.

Halifax was supposed to play Saint John tonight at the Halifax Forum in a pre-season game, but it had to be cancelled because the Mooseheads can’t ice enough players.

“Already we've got Marty Frk suspended for two games,” says general manager Cam Russell. “Max Lindsay has a concussion so he's out and six to seven players have been hit by the flu and they are all forwards. Right now we're down to five healthy forwards.”

With the team short on forwards, Russell had to pull the plug on Friday’s game.

The final pre-season game is scheduled for Tuesday, health-permitting.
