One home is destroyed and two others are damaged following a house fire in Eastern Passage, N.S.

Fire crews were called to the home on Vicky Crescent around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Fire officials say the home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived on scene.

“Crews arrived on scene to a fully-involved structure fire, so the house was completely involved,” says acting division commander Kevin Reade. “It was mostly on the front of the house where it initially started, on the deck, and then inside on the first floor, then went inside on the second floor so we ran lines and fought the fire from the exterior.”

Everyone made it out of the home safely and no one was injured.

“Initially we had a report that everyone was inside, but when we arrived on scene the family had got themselves out,” says Reade.

Neighbours on both sides of the home also had to leave their own houses because the siding was metling under the heat and flames. They were allowed back inside an hour later.

There is no word on a cause at this time.
