The driver of a milk truck escaped injury after his vehicle was struck by a train in New Brunswick Thursday morning.

The man was on his way to pick up a load of milk at a farm in Sackville when his vehicle became stuck on the icy driveway. It eventually rolled backwards and came to settle on the train tracks.

The driver escaped the vehicle as a train approached but the train was unable to stop in time.

The truck sustained serious damage in the crash but the driver was not injured.

CN Rail is investigating the collision.
