Woman struck by vehicle in Moncton plaza parking lot

Share

A woman was sent to hospital with serious injuries Tuesday morning after a vehicle allegedly struck her in the parking lot of a Moncton shopping centre.

Moncton Fire Department Platoon Chief Brian McDonald said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in front of a retail store in the Northwest Plaza.

“A female had been struck by a vehicle and was trapped under the vehicle. This required the crew from Engine 5 to use our airbags from the rescue to raise the vehicle so they could gain access to get the trapped patient from out underneath the car,” said McDonald.

The patient was immediately transported to hospital with what McDonald called serious injuries.

“It was a serious accident,” he said.
