No injuries after early morning fire at seniors' complex in Stratford: P.E.I. RCMP

No injuries were reported following a fire in Stratford, P.E.I., early Friday morning.

Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to a report of a fire at a seniors' apartment complex on St. John Avenue at 2:20 a.m.

The RCMP says all 21 residents were evacuated to the nearby Stratford Emergency Services Building without incident, however one resident went to hospital for other medical concerns.

Damage from the fire was contained to a small section of the apartment complex, with smoke affecting larger areas.

Police say the Provincial Fire Marshal attended the scene and the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

Officials from The Canadian Red Cross also responded.
