HALIFAX -- Nova Scotia's Progressive Conservative leader wants to test his party's support for him at its annual general meeting in February.
Under the party's constitution, a leadership review must take place before February 2015 but Jamie Baillie has requested it take place at the first opportunity after October's provincial election.
The party jumped from third place in the legislature in October when it won Official Opposition status with 11 seats, a four seat gain.
Party president Janet Fryday Dorey says Baillie has energized the Conservatives since becoming leader three years ago and the party executive has accepted his request for the leadership review in February.
The party is scheduled to meet in Halifax from Feb. 7-9.
