A video of a 21-year-old man backflipping off Cape Breton’s Seal Island Bridge has police warning others that they could be breaking the law.

Logan Latulippe’s video of him jumping off the 90-foot bridge has gone viral. It’s also brought along both positive and negative feedback.

“All my friends, everyone who knows me is really happy for me because they know I'm doing what I love,” says Latulippe. “But I get the odd comment saying I'm stupid, I'm going to die, that kind of stuff.”

It's the adrenaline rush that has Latulippe taking risks, but police can't say enough about just how dangerous it is.

“You're putting first responders at risk by taking part in such activity. We strongly discourage people from jumping off bridges,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson of Nova Scotia RCMP.

But Latulippe says he took necessary precautions in case something went wrong.

“I made sure I had guys with life-jackets waiting at the bottom. We went just as the current was switching. The current under there can get nasty, so we went at the time it was going from in to out, it would be calm,” he said.

The RCMP say people could face charges for obstructing traffic or being on the roadway. In this case, Latulippe was up under the bridge.

“Not only is it dangerous to be doing such a thing, it is trespassing because the bridge is not owned by those people that were involved. It's owned by the province and there for a reason,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson.

Despite the warning, Latulippe is already planning his next big jump. But after the viral success of this video, fans and police may be watching.
