Saint John Police seek suspect after weapon fired during armed robbery

Police in Saint John, N.B., are asking for the public’s help in locating a man involved in an armed robbery.

The Saint John Police Force responded to the robbery at a lounge on Westmorland Road around 2:21 a.m. Thursday.

Police say a man with a firearm entered the lounge and attempted to take money from the cash register.

Police say the man got into an altercation with another person in the bar and the weapon was fired.

The suspect was seen leaving in a dark-coloured four-door sedan. Police say he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a white emblem on the chest at the time of the incident.

No serious injuries were reported and police say no one has been charged at this time.

Police are looking to speak with witnesses, or anyone in the area who dash-cam or video surveillance, of the incident.
