The search continued Saturday for 30-year-old Marty Leger.

Leger was reported missing on Thursday after he failed to return home from a mountain bike ride near Waverley, Nova Scotia.

Nearly 200 volunteers spent the day searching the Spider Lake trails off Waverley Road.

Two helicopters with the Department of Natural Resources also scanned the area.

The Spider Lake trails cover 60 square kilometres. Search and rescue volunteers say many areas are covered in thick brush, making the search effort challenging.

Leger’s family has not spoken to the media, but RCMP say they want to extend appreciation to the local neighbourhood and the dedicated volunteers.

Halifax RCMP say Leger was riding alone and was not carrying a cell phone.
